Hey folks! My name is Elijah Martello, and I am a Connecticut - Georgia based 18 years old Filmmaker! I am currently a High School Senior at Watertown High School and will become a Film and Television Major at SCAD in Savannah Georgia as the Class of 2030!
My goal is to become a successful Filmmaker and Screenwriter in the Hollywood Film Industry, and work with some of the most talented and influential people in Hollywood today. I am also minoring in Cinematography and Editing in SCAD. I've had a long history of being a film lover, and especially a movie nerd! I first fell in love with filmmaking by 8 - 9 years old, which was nearly 10 years ago, when I started out with stop motion animation, using Legos and Clay to create tiny tidbits of shorts with my iPhone and Nintendo 3DS. As I got older, I got into Art and Screenwriting, where I had a few years of drawing and painting. For nearly 7 years, I've practiced screenwriting and since then, I've improved and become better at my craft, where it's one of my goals in the Film Industry.
Since February 2023, I've been writing a passion project I hope to produce as a filmmaker called "The Homicide Story", a Noir Crime film set in the late 1940's in Los Angeles. As we speak, I haven't finished up the script just yet, although nearly 30 pages are done so far, but it is a big dream for myself to finish this script up and start work on my dream production.
One story I am currently in development on that I should hopefully produce at SCAD Studios is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1953 short story, "Lamb to the Slaughter", which I'm hoping to submit to local Film Festivals like Sundance or SCAD, once completed and ready for distribution and release. The final edits on the script are nearly complete so far and will be printed out to be given one final look before my approval.
I have a history of family members trying to get into acting, especially my mother, Maxine. As a child in the 1980's, she grew up fascinated with acting and wanting to become an actress. One of her favorite musicals is "Meet Me in St. Louis" starring the amazing Judy Garland. She played Margaret Hamilton's famous character, The Wicked Witch of the West in her School theatre production of The Wizard of Oz, and to this day at nearly 50 years old, she can recite all of the dialogue from the iconic 1939 MGM film.
